Goals and General Standards of Jungian Analyst Training

Analytical training is a theoretical and practical course for training professional Jungian analysts, based on long-term group and individual supervisions, clinical-theoretical seminars, with mandatory personal analysis for analytical candidates throughout the entire training period.

The training is developed within the framework of IAAP international standards for the training of Jungian analysts. It is conducted by analyst-members of the UJA/IAAP.

Completing and successfully finishing the training program enables the candidate to obtain the legitimate status of "Jungian analyst" with international certification and to become a group member of the UJA/IAAP.

The goal of the training is to prepare Jungian analysts through a deep understanding of the theory and practice of analytical psychology. The learning process is both educational and personally developmental, thanks to an atmosphere that fosters clinical and personal growth. Analytical training aims to help the candidate integrate the emotional, psychological, creative, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of their personality to form a professional identity.

With the guidance of instructors, training analysts, and training supervisors, the process of professional development brings together personal analytical experience with practical work experience, entering a new culture of collegial support and connections.

Admission and Candidate Requirements

Candidates for the UJA training program can be specialists in the field of psychology and medicine, over 28 years of age, who have successfully passed a screening interview.

Admission to the training requires:

  • Knowledge of basic concepts of analytical psychology acquired in basic programs or other educational projects conducted by IAAP members;
  • A stable clinical practice;
  • Ongoing personal analysis and supervisions with certified Jungian analysts.

The training is based on adherence to IAAP standards, the UJA Constitution, the norms of the UJA Ethical Code, and compliance with uniform requirements set for candidates. Discrimination based on ethnicity, gender identity, sex, or religion during admission or training is not acceptable.

Structure, Duration, and Program Standards

The duration of the training ranges from 5 to 10 years.

Basic programs and educational projects in theoretical training in the field of analytical psychology must comply with the provision "Requirements for Educational Programs of Theoretical Training in Analytical Psychology," approved by the UJA in accordance with IAAP standards. (Appendix 1).
