We invite you to the lecture by Ursula Wirtz “The Return of the soul. The search for meaning and wisdom in times of brutal atrocities.”

Ursula Wirtz: “we will explore how descending into the underworld of trauma contributes to deepening our understanding of the soul’s desire for transformation and search for meaning. Clinical, mythological, and spiritual approaches to dealing with trauma help us integrate lost and dismembered fragments of the psyche. By illuminating the archetypal pattern of dying and becoming, we learn to trust the transformative power of suffering.”

Ursula Wirtz holds a Ph. D. in literature and philosophy from the University of Munich, and a degree in clinical and anthropological psychology from the University of Zurich. In 1982, she completed her studies at the C. G. Jung Institute and leads a private practice in Zurich. She is the author of numerous publications on sexual violence, trauma, ethics, and the interaction of psychotherapy and spirituality; a training analyst, supervisor, and lecturer in the ISAP Zurich program. Her newest book, Trauma and beyond. The secret of transformation “(“Trauma and Beyond. The Mystery of Transformation” is published in German, English, Czech, Polish and Chinese.

The lecture was held on November 26, 2022 from 11:00 to 13:00 Kiev time, online in the Zoom program.

Org.the fee for participation in the lecture is 300 UAH. the funds raised will be used to translate Ursula Wirtz’s article “symbolic dimension of trauma therapy” into Ukrainian and post it on the UYA website
